The following senior portraits were photographed all around El Dorado County. Haily, who is a high school senior at Oakridge High School in El Dorado Hills, wanted photos in several locations, as well as at our Rescue Studio. We visited some train tracks and an old caboose in Shingle Springs, tromped through a field down the road in Rescue, and returned for some images in the Quintessence Studio where we listened to music and “played” in her cheerleader uniform while taking some great shots of Hailey, jumping, making faces, and dancing. Below are several pictures from Hailey’s senior portrait session. Thank you Hailey for being an awesome model!

Hailey requested images on train tracks. She looks beautiful anywhere!

Our Tuscan courtyard is a great place of senior pictures!

This old train car is a fabulous backdrop for Hailey.

Does this girl have beautiful eyes or what?

I photographed these fireworks on July 2nd, 2011. What a beautiful display over Cameron Lake. Let’s remember why we celebrate Independence Day. This is my first attempt at photographing fireworks, but not my last! Fireworks over Cameron Park Lake, CA

Audrey is my youngest fairy princess yet, and she is making me rethink my previous idea that it’s best for little girls ages three to about eight or nine years old. I met her grandmother at a Sierra Mom’s event in Folsom and she was excited to have her little princess photographed as a fairy princess; especially since she was going to soon have a Tinker Bell party for her first birthday. I ordered a special fairy princess outfit in her size from Elena of Elena Collection (www.elenacollectionusa.com), and it looked perfect! We set up a fairy princess set for Audrey in my Rescue studio, and I think it turned out to be pretty cute! Please let me know what you think!

I will be having a Fairy Princess special coming up in June where I’ll set up the set for three days (June 9th – 11th) and will photograph only fairy princesses for the entire time. This way I can offer less expensive sessions as I only have to set up  once. It’s rather involved, as you can see, but well worth it!

Guess how old Audrey is turning? This image was on her birthday party invitation which is coming up soon & will be held at her home in Folsom, CA. Do you think she held her finger up on purpose? The invitation design will soon be on my facebook page if you’d like to take a look: www.facebook.com/Qphotoart.

We took some photos of Audray in her first birthday outfit! She was just over nine months old and pulling herself up. She kind of looks like she’s getting ready to dance!

Audrey was so darling in this hat which was hand made by my good friend Wendy Cookson from Amador County. Yes, this was right before she pulled it off! Gotta be quick!!

A few more images of Audrey can be seen on my facebook fan page again it’s at www.facebook.com/Qphotoart. Feel free to “like” my page!

Following are a few images from a high school senior session I did last summer at my Rescue Studio. It was such an honor to photograph Devin after watching him grow up into such an awesome young man. He is my brother’s middle son. Devin is a fabulous athlete–plays basketball and runs cross country and track. He even competed at the state cross country level. He arrived for his session with all kinds of ideas, outfits, and props, including his trumpet, running shoes, basketball, letter jacket, and even his guitar hero guitar! We did the session after he ran in a competition at Sacramento City College, so I was able to go down there and take some photographs of him running as well. I put together several images of Devin from the session along with scans of newspaper clippings and images of him running earlier that day to create a beautiful keepsake album for him. (This album will soon be posted on my facebook fan page.) Devin is now attending Cal Berkely! I am so proud of him!

I had the honor of photographing Liz and Aaron’s wedding this last summer at The Coloma Country Inn in Coloma, CA. This is such a beautiful wedding venue, with willow trees, a pond, a cute bed and breakfast home and cottage to get ready in, and more! Liz and Aaron’s wedding really reflected their personalities. Their ceremony was on the grounds of the Coloma property with the pond and gorgeous trees behind them. We were able to capture some really nice images of them as well as some fun ones of the party. The Inn is not too far from El Dorado Hills, but takes you back into an older, more simple world. Located right next to Marshall Gold Discovery Historic Park and very near The Church of the Emmanuel, it is a wonderful place to visit and what a great place for a wedding! What a treat as a wedding photographer to be able to photograph in this stunning location! Thank you Liz and Aaron for sharing your day with me! Following are some photographs taken on the wedding day.

Liz had three flower girls and one maid of honor. They were all so cute!!

I do have to say that the following photograph was NOT my idea! But of course I was happy to photograph it–had to try not to shake the camera I was laughing so hard!

Liz looked so beautiful!! Just the kind of bride that is a pleasure as a photographer to photograph!

One of my favorite things about Coloma Country Inn is that they not only have a beautiful pond, but also a row boat to go with it! How many brides and grooms have wedding photographs in a row boat? The tough part was keeping the groomsmen out of the photographs when we were photographing the couple next to the pond! They kept rowing into our background!

The Groom’s Cake was a replica of his truck! He didn’t want to cut it, but Liz told him it really won’t last! The photograph will though!!

The father of the groom “cuttin’ a rug” with one of the groomsmen!!

Who says you have to toast with champaigne?

A fabulous time was had by all!!

Danielle and her family wanted to have an  outdoor portrait taken, but unfortunately, it was a rainy day in El Dorado Hills on the day we had planned to photograph them. Rather than wait, they decided to come up to my Rescue studio, which is only a few minutes from their El Dorado Hills home. I hauled out my father’s very cool World War II era steamer trunk (he used it to travel in the Army), and we took several photographs of this awesome family on and around the trunk. Aiden, Shaunn’s four year old son had so much fun (as did I). We all got a littly silly, and just had to take some fun shots. Aiden liked my nose and glasses (below), so of course we had to do a shot of him wearing them, then the silliness continued to the scrunchy face shot. I love digital–no wasting film! The nice thing for them is that they had a certificate that I had donated to Sienna Restaurant in El Dorado Hills for their Yelloween Party, so they were able to get a complimentary session as well as 5×7. What a deal! I was lucky too, as they were such a treat to work with. The first image below was their favorite for Christmas gifts (Shhhh!), but they really got a kick out of the others as well.
